Skull cap AI before and after samples
Each sample shows the before frame, the hooded after frame and the clip between them, remixed from aiaigenerator.ai originals with original adult characters.
Skull cap AI is the TikTok glow-up done with two designed frames: a bright, goofy before and a dark after with a black knit cap under a black hood, then a clip that runs from one to the other. The people below are original generated adults, not real users. Both clips are Lovart ME re-cuts of 10-second originals made on aiaigenerator.ai, one with MiniMax H3 and one with Seedance 2.0 Fast, reframed and graded, not mirrored and with no new generation. The two after frames and the caption card were made with GPT Image 2.5 Flare for this page on October 31, 2026. None came from the workbench above.

Blue window stare
Remixed from an aiaigenerator.ai clip · MiniMax H3
Before
GPT Image 2.5 Flare, 9:16: an original generated man in his 20s with messy brown hair and a yellow tee, lips pushed out, in a bright bedroom
After
GPT Image 2.5 Flare, 9:16: the same man in the same bedroom, now dark, a black hood up over a black knit cap, blue light from the window
Master
MiniMax H3 · 768p · 9:16 · 10 s, the before as first frame and the after as last frame, made on aiaigenerator.ai
This cut
8.6 s re-cut for Lovart ME: reframed, ice-and-brass grade, not mirrored; zero credits
What happens
Both hands rake through his hair, a palm sweeps across the lens at about 3.3 s, then he sits in the dark hood and stares with his chin up
Remixed from an aiaigenerator.ai clip · Seedance 2.0 Fast
Before
GPT Image 2.5 Flare, 9:16: an original couple on a beige sofa, a woman with curly dark hair in a pink cardigan and a man in a striped polo, tongues out
After
GPT Image 2.5 Flare, 9:16: the same two on the same sofa in black hoods over black knit caps, the room lit red
Master
Seedance 2.0 Fast · 720p · 9:16 · 10 s, first and last frame, made on aiaigenerator.ai
This cut
8.6 s re-cut for Lovart ME, ice-and-brass grade, not mirrored; zero credits
What happens
A wink and tongues out, then by about 3.4 s the room is red, they glance at each other and turn to stare into the lens
Upload a plain, well-lit photo, add a light reference, and ask for a black knit cap under a black hood with a cold stare.
Start from a plain photo
One adult or a couple, face to the camera, sharp and well lit, chest or waist up. No sunglasses, no hat or hood yet, no beauty filter. Glasses can stay; they belong to the before. Any room works, because the dark after is designed from it.
Pick the light
Pick Steel Blue, Brass Red or Frost Window. To match a light you have seen, add one photo of it as the light reference: the frame copies its colour and direction, never the person in it.
Keep the face
Design the after sends your photo to Image to Image with the same face and framing, a plain black hoodie and a tight black knit cap that hides all your hair. Compare the two frames; if the face drifted, press Rebuild last frame.
Steel Blue
Cool window light from one side, the room near black. The default, and the light in Blue window stare.
The cap is a plain black, close-fitting knit cap, a skully, with the hood pulled over it. It is not a durag and not the crochet skullcap from fashion feeds.
Use one short line that sets up the switch, such as How dudes feel 0.1 seconds after putting on a skull cap, placed above the face.
Still only · GPT Image 2.5 Flare
The 0.1 seconds line
The trend runs on one caption, written over and over with small changes. Copy one of these and keep it short enough for two lines on a phone.
How dudes feel 0.1 seconds after putting on a skull cap
How I feel 0.1 seconds after putting on a skull cap
Me 0.1 seconds after the skull cap goes on
Where the caption sits
Put it above the head, in the dark space the hood leaves at the top of the after frame, in plain white type on a thin dark band. Keep it off the eyes; the stare is the joke. Download frame, then Open in PhotoCraft and type the line. PhotoCraft is a free editor in the browser; editing costs no credits.
On Video, set your photo as the first frame and the hooded after as the last frame, and describe the hand sweeping over the lens in between.
Animate it sends both frames to Image to Video: your photo first, the designed after last, 10 seconds, 9:16. Pick Seedance 2.5 or Seedance 2.0 Mini as the video model, because they take a first and a last frame. The frames below come from Blue window stare at 1.2, 3.3 and 6.8 seconds; each pairs what the clip shows with the prompt line that asks for it.
0–4 s
First frame: the goofy you
Your photo opens the clip. In the sample he rakes both hands through his hair in the bright room, lips still pushed out.
0-4 s: the bright room, a goofy face, hands running through their own uncovered hair.
4–5 s
The hand over the lens
A palm sweeps across the lens and covers the switch. In this cut it lands at about 3.3 s because the first second of the original was trimmed.
About 4.5 s: a hand sweeps over the lens in a fast blur on the beat.
5–10 s
Last frame: the hood
Dark room, blue window light, black hood over the cap. He lifts his chin and holds the stare until the clip ends on the designed after.
5-10 s: a black hoodie with the hood up over a tight black knit skull cap, a slow head tilt and a cold, unsmiling stare.
The clip comes with original music. Add the trend sound in TikTok when you post.
The skull cap trend spread on TikTok from mid-October 2026 with no single confirmed creator, set to the SoulReligion sound.

Oct 16–18
More early versions follow, each passing several million views within days.
Oct 21–23
Two more clips pass 11 million each; from October 23 women and dads join in.
Oct 28
#skullcap holds 67,777 videos and 1.07 billion views, a day after Know Your Meme adds the entry.
Dates and counts are as recorded on a peer template page, not checked post by post. Know Your Meme says no single originator can be identified. People make it three ways: film it with a cap, a hoodie and a light switch; use a one-photo template that copies a reference reel shot by shot; or animate their photo with the before, the cut and the after written in the prompt. This page adds a fourth: design both frames, then animate between them.
The sound
The TikTok audio is “original sound - SoulReligion”, which Know Your Meme identifies as Bryson Tiller's verse from “Wild Thoughts” (DJ Khaled featuring Rihanna and Bryson Tiller, 2017). AI clips come with their own sound; add the trend sound in TikTok when you post.
Usually a version of “How dudes feel 0.1 seconds after putting on a skull cap”. Put it in one or two lines above the face so it reads before the switch, and swap “dudes” for “girls” or “dads” if that fits you better.
Is this the crochet skullcap trend?
No. The crochet skullcap is a fashion accessory. This trend uses a plain black, close-fitting knit cap, a skully, with a black hood pulled over it. It is not a durag either.
Do I need the before photo to be goofy?
It helps. The plainer and sillier the before, the harder the cold after lands. Messy hair, a pulled face, bright light and no hat or hood yet is the usual start.
How long is the clip?
About 10 to 12 seconds, vertical 9:16, with the cut around the middle. Animate it here makes a 10-second clip; the two samples above are shorter re-cuts of 10-second originals.
Is filming it yourself better?
Filming gives you your own timing and delivery, but you need the cap, a hoodie and a dark room. Two designed frames give you the exact look and light you want without any of them.
